Profile
Algerian Startup Fund (ASF) is a public venture capital firm established in 2020. Headquartered in Algeria, the fund was initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune with the aim of fostering innovation and supporting startups. ASF collaborates with six public banks to provide a wide range of supports including equity, quasi-equity investments, hands-on guidance, and access to a partner network. ASF distinguishes itself by acting as a catalyst for startup development in Algeria, providing comprehensive assessment and post-investment support that includes export readiness and scaling opportunities across the country's 58 wilayas.
The fund targets sectors like Industry 4.0, health, agri-tech, fintech, education, and green-tech, with investment tickets of up to DZD 150 million per project depending on maturity and need. ASF requires startups to be labeled, which validates their innovation and qualifies them for the fund's programs. By enhancing national reach, ASF aims to cultivate skilled jobs and national champions within strategic sectors.
Some notable initiatives include ASF's work with labeled startups to achieve measurable results and engage in national and international markets. The fund's partnership with the national public accelerator, Algeria Venture, provides startups structured acceleration, go-to-market strategies, and investor-readiness, further demonstrating ASF’s commitment to driving economic transformation in Algeria.
