The Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Venture Funds, investing in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, are one of the largest and most active sources of equity finance for technology companies on the island of Ireland. Kernel Capital funds are industry performance leaders having delivered Gross IRRs in excess of 20% per annum. Our strategic alliance with Bank of Ireland, the wide range of institutional investors in our funds and our network of over 80 institutional portfolio co-investors ensures Kernel Capital deliver ‘access to funding’ for all stages of company growth. To date, we have raised €210m / £165m in venture capital funds, the latest being in 2015 and with our assistance our portfolio companies have raised over €500m / £420m in equity and debt funding. The Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Venture Funds are independently managed by Kernel Capital. Our team based in Cork, Belfast and Dublin, leverage our extensive network to enable our portfolio companies to recruit the highest calibre people, to break into new international markets and to generate revenues of scale.
