Vesalius Biocapital Partners invests in companies active in human health through venture capital funds raised since 2007. We have contributed to developing 20 companies since inception.

With more than € 150 million under management in two funds. Vesalius Biocapital Partners plays the role of lead investor in the large majority of its financing rounds.

Our companies are based in Europe allowing easy interaction with management.

We invest in all stages of development and do not shy away from relatively early-stage projects with a sound proprietary technology and corresponding IP, unique team skills and a clear competitive edge based on solid data.

The investment strategy is focused on three areas: therapeutics, medical devices and diagnostics.

Our team possesses a deep scientific understanding of the life science field, investment expertise and the passion to build companies based on a sound business case.

We work closely with ambitious entrepreneurs contributing more than just money. We offer advice to optimize the business plan, bring introductions to other venture capital players and to world’s leading healthcare companies, bring help with hiring talented people and assist with exit optimization.

We finance both early stage companies and corporate spin-offs with more mature assets.

We invest progressively in the development of our portfolio companies. Over several rounds of financing we may commit up to €10 million in a single portfolio company. We may also invest a few hundred thousand euro in a seed project.

As active investors, we lead or co-lead investments and will always hold a board seat.
