Founded in 2016, Wetherby is an independent private equity firm specialising in technology growth capital in Europe. Our investment team has pursued this strategy for twenty years and has over 50 years of relevant experience gathered at blue-chip institutions. Wetherby’s senior professionals have completed more than 40 investments and deployed >€450 million of capital over the last 20+ years.





Wetherby seeks to partner with established, privately owned, technology companies led by excellent management teams and entrepreneurs. We focus on investment cases which are based on sustainable growth in revenues and earnings. Our approach is to help realise a company’s growth potential independent from the transaction structure, which is why we consider minority or majority shareholdings including replacement capital as well as the injection of growth capital. We typically invest up to €15 million of equity per company and are generally cautious about financial leverage.





Sustainability is at the heart of our investment strategy. We invest in and work with businesses that have developed technologies and services, with high barriers-to-entry, to alleviate or reduce waste and enhance energy and resource efficiency. Therefore, we invest in five sectors across Northern Europe: information technology (software & hardware), mechanical & electrical engineering, advanced materials & specialty chemicals and business services (with strong differentiation/know-how).
