Alto Partners, founded by Stefano Scarpis and Raffaele de Courten, is an independent GP based in Milano, controlled by the management team. The firm promotes and manages private equity funds investing in mid-cap companies headquartered in Italy.

The firm, with over 25 years of activity, is one of the most experienced in the Italian mid-market. It has a combined track record of 47 transactions closed (including add-ons) with a combined transacted value in excess of €1b.

The firm works alongside entrepreneurial families and managers to oversee generation transition and support growth plans with a hands-on approach.

The firm is currently investing its fifth-generation fund, Alto Capital V (vintage 2022), which raised €305m equity commitments from LPs coupled to a significant co-investment envelope from our LPs.

We target both buyout and expansion investments, with a preference for majorities and primary transactions. Our investment strategy currently encompasses companies with sales in the €30-100 million range, and EBITDA in the €7-15m range.

Our current equity cheque ranges from €20m to €45m with flexibility to execute larger transactions on the back of co-investor support.

Our investment strategy is generalist, but have gained over the last two and a half decades a significant track record in 5 industry verticals: food, industrial, consumer, healthcare, business services.

Alto Partners' funds are backed by a broad array of both institutional and private LPs based in Italy and abroad.

Alto Capital V is classifed as Art. 8 SFDR and we put significant effort on the environmental and sustainability profile of our investments both at entry and during our holding period.
